Fairways is operated by Get Fairways Ltd. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights under UK GDPR. If you have any questions, email us at hello@getfairways.co.uk.
1. Data we collect
Email address
Collected when you: create an account, save a tee time reminder, join a course waitlist, or respond to a follow-up email. Used to send you tee time reminders, availability alerts, and one-time follow-up emails asking whether your booking was successful.
Search activity
When you search for tee times, your most recent postcode and search date are stored in your browser's localStorage to pre-fill the search bar on your next visit. This data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers unless you have an account.
Booking clicks
When you click through to a club's booking page, we record the course, date, and time you clicked. This data is anonymised and used to understand which tee times and courses are most popular. It is not linked to your email unless you have an account.
Account information
If you create an account, we store your name, email address, and a hashed (one-way encrypted) version of your password. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
Cookies and local storage
We store a consent preference (fw_cookie_consent) and recent searches in your browser's localStorage. If you accept analytics cookies, Vercel Analytics may set cookies to measure aggregate site usage — no personal data is passed to Vercel Analytics.
2. Legal basis for processing
- Contract performance — processing your account data to provide the service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — aggregate analytics, error monitoring, and service improvement.
- Consent — analytics cookies and follow-up emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
3. How long we keep your data

4. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase / PostgreSQL — our database provider. Data is hosted in the EU.
- Vercel — our hosting provider (US-based, Standard Contractual Clauses apply).
- Vercel Analytics — aggregate, anonymous site usage data. No personal data is shared.
- Sentry — error monitoring. Error reports may include anonymised device and browser information. No personally identifiable information is intentionally included.
- Resend — email delivery for tee time reminders and alerts.
5. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data (“right to be forgotten”).
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, by clearing your browser storage or emailing us.

6. Cookies
Essential cookies are required for the site to function (authentication session).Analytics cookies are only set if you choose “Accept all” in the cookie banner. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with an updated date. Continued use of Fairways after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
